Scented experiments

I added some scent to some of our routine backyard science geared fun!
IN the pics are ice, sea salt, food coloring, baking soda, vinegar, orange extract for scent,  coffee beans, lemons, and various kitchen utensils we have in the yard, measuring cups, etc. We also are starting some water bead squares in the water tables to watch them grow throughout the day outdoors, rather than how we usually grow them overnight inside.

orange extract, sea salt, ice, food coloring, and tongs!

orange scented volcano fun!!

pouring coffee beans over his face into the bin.. mmmm smells so good Mom!!

tasting a bean....hmm  tastes bitter..... (they spit the bean out after)

almost to two cups!!

transporting lemons with tongs = fun!!

  1. What a great idea to add that sense of smell! I always think to add color but not smell!

  2. Oh my goodness this looks like it was a blast! Love the idea of exploring with scents. Kids are so into smell, it can be very powerful!

  3. Ooooh.. I love how you used the coffee =-) YUM! Thanks for linking up to TGIF! Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow =-)

  4. Wow, what a fun way to add a new dimension to sensory play! Thanks for linking up to the Outdoor Play Party.
