DIY Letters of My Name Sticker Book

This is a really fun way to explore names, plus some phonics and alphabet practice. and throw in some fine motor.  Peeling stickers can be hard work for little fingers! The concept is to take a blank notebook of any kind, we used blank writing journals from the dollar bin at Target.  I set up one page per letter of their name.  So if the child's name is six letters long, you will need six pages.  Our books have more than six pages, so I set a few pages to be random freestyle sticker pages. On each letter page, your child can put stickers that start with the same letter.

Create a Beautiful Rainbow Window

Reggio inspired rainbow window that casts color around the room

Everyone who comes over really loves our Rainbow Window.  It casts tons of color all over the room and on to anyone who is in the room.  Everyone looks very colorful when they are in the room in the afternoon! We love the Rainbow Window because it gives the room an extra added touch of wonder and whimsy! It looks so pretty!

It started off as this.....

gorgeous and easy rainbow sun catcher craft
I had an idea after we used these translucent color chips at the park for a playdough/chalk playdate

rainbow craft for kids
I got out the scotch tape and the translucent color chips and started making strips of bingo chips

when the sun shines through, they create a rainbow in the room!

So simple, yet so fun and pretty!

Then I found and bought these...........

Some of them I laminated, and some I did not laminate.

Then we changed the window because the cello sheets cast more color around the room than the color chips. However we really love the color chips and the cascading rainbow sun catchers that we made. So we moved them to another window in the room.

Here are some pics of the way our Rainbow Window looks now!

The large cello sheets are taped in the window with scotch tape.
The smaller bits are pasted to the window with mod podge.
We just cut and tore pieces into random shapes and sizes.
The mod podge will come off if you try to peel it off and you can wipe your window totally clean with rubbing alcohol. So don't fret, it is not permanent.

this was before we finished the last set on the right.

this was right before we did the last window, see it is bare in this pic.

Here is where the Cascading Rainbow Sun Catchers are moved to.

Here are some older pics from when they were in the Rainbow Window.
