a little bit of this, a little bit of that

October always seems to bring a lot of fun.  I have been doing a lot of really fun preschool learning activities with Graham and Parker.  I have been reading up more on learning through play, reggio emelia, waldorf, and montessori.  Very interesting stuff! Graham and Parker really enjoy playing with toys on the light table. We have come up with so many awesome ways to play!

They like to use the men and cars from their crystal bricks set for various on and off the light table play.  They play with the crystal bricks on their table more than the light table usually. but they do like to take time to check them out on the light table too.

I have made up a lot of fun light table worksheets to learn and play with! We have a box of translucent bingo chip type circles for the light table. We use them for many things, They can be written on or used as they are. They make great learning tools.

Lots of fun with black light, glow in the dark, water beads, glow stick bracelets, etc.

We made 2 trips to the pumpkin patch, they love to walk around and touch the pumpkins as well as sit on them. These pics were from our 2nd trip to the pumpkin patch....  The 1st trip pics were really great, I will have to post them soon!

They made me turn the car around and go back to a local business so that they could get a better look at this ridiculous giant cat.  This occurred more than once in October,  This cat would turn out to be a plague on my existence if I was in a hurry to get anywhere.

Some fun with magna tiles on the light table.  These things are so awesome and I will be posting some pics soon that I recently took of them playing with the magna tiles by sunlight (AWESOME cast off from the light) and with a large mirror that I have had since I was 10 years old.

You can't skip pumpkin painting!!

This was a fun activity, sorting,  scooping,  and pouring water beads into plastic bowls, on the light table. They loved it!

Then we moved the water beads and plastic bowls to the drum.  They have one of their Dad's old drumset drums and I put a string of christmas lights under it for added fun!  They set this all up with their sister, Mackenna. They said it was a beehive.  NEAT!
