Backyard fish pond
Today we made a pond! Actually TWO ponds! I set up two container ponds today. I did some research to find out how to and then set it all up today!! In one container pond we have minnows, comet goldfish, and a water lily plant. In the other container pond we have a different kind of lily that can live in water, I think calla.... as well as the minnows and comet goldfish. The kids LOVE IT!! I located the container ponds in their backyard play area. They love to go watch the fish swim around. Their friend Garland came to play today and she loves the fish too!!
It was an easy set up. I filled the 2 buckets with water 24 hours before adding the plans and fish. That takes out the chlorine. Then I went out and got the plants from Lukas Nursery in Oviedo Florida. I added the plants, floated the fish in the bags they came in, put in the water conditioner, waited 30 minutes and released the fish. I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions at the planet nursery and fish store. I also watched videos on youtube and red a few webpages about how to create a container pond. I love it as much as the kids do!!
