Guidecraft sent us two of their awesome STEM toys for review and we love them! They sent us Texo and Grippies. We tested them out with our homeschool group, and at home. They are definite must haves for the upcoming Holiday season. I highly recommend both toys!
Texo reminds me of a modern set of Lincoln logs. There are multiple types of wood building pieces and connectors, connecting rods, and plastic shapes that the connecting rods can fit into. This is a very cool toy, there are a lot of ways to build with them. Texo allows a child to really branch out (no pun intended) with their building. Texo is a very open ended toy and allows for a lot of creativity. Where as your child may already have a lot of blocks already, Texo is a very unique building set. Texo is an excellent building set for multiple children and collaborative building playdates. I really like the design of this toy, my 8 year old twins boys really like them too! Check out my pictures and videos below!
Grippies are a totally cool magnetic building set for little hands. They are an excellent sensory toy as well. Grippies combines tactile sensory with magnetic building play. The building rods come in four sizes, and each have a different color and texture. Any baby or toddler would love Grippies. I have even noticed that the 5-9 year olds in my homeschool group enjoyed playing with them as well. My eight year old twins like making them into "microphones" haha.
Check out my video and photos below of Grippies!
