bears, beads, & letters

Here are a few pics of some sorting Graham was doing on the light table tonight.  During this time, Parker was sitting under the table playing a preschool learning game on my iPhone.  Graham hogs the iPhone a lot, so Parker snagged the opportunity to play a game or two.  I have 3 folders of learning games set up on my iPhone for them.  Graham and Parker have a few cute light table manipulatives that we use for various learning exercises from time to time.

mini felt board & waldorf playstand

I decided to use an old dry erase board and make it into a mini felt board for inside of Graham & Parker's waldorf playstand! (the playstand is Graham & Parker's awesome Christmas gift from Grammy & Van) I cut out random animals, shapes, and trees to put on the felt board. I also attached a basket to the wall to put the felt shapes into for storage. I also put our older, smaller light box into the playstand too for extra added fun! The dry erase board is also magnetic. so technically they can attach their magnets to it also. They helped me switch around some of the things they wanted on the shelves of their playstands today too!  When they want, they can also open up one or both sides of the "curtain" and make the playstand a fruit stand or store,  or something fun like that! I was unable to fit the playstand around the chalk board quite right, so I might either expand the chalk board to be wider or tape it off to be smaller.

light box, water beads, Waldorf playstand!

I set up Graham & Parker's smaller light box so that they can use it anytime they are playing in their playstand.  They love it!1  Parker joined in too but I didnt get any pics of him playing...it got a lil crowded in there with Mackenna and all you could see was the backs of heads. This will make a great regular piece to keep in their playstand! Our larger light panel is set up on a table in their learning area for anytime use too!  ;)

light table geo board

I am a little uncomfortable with  the whole spiky metal board + two 3 year olds home made geo board idea. I have seen a lot of home made metal geo boards online as well as plastic and metal ones you can buy on amazon.com. I just feel like I need to wait a little longer before we venture into that. It's a little different when you  have twins.  I wanted to make one but could not find a way to without nails or screws to place the rubber bands on......So I visitied the idea of using an old snap circuits board (That my oldest isnt currently using) for a geo board. So far so good, it works!! Graham tried it out while Parker had a little nap yesterday. We used mini rubber bands and silly bands. He liked it, so this will be our geo board for now. ;)

Playdough Space Monsters & Waldorf Play Stand!

Graham and Parker love having daily playdough art time. Sometimes they make creations and other times they just make balls or flatten the playdough. This time they decided to make space monsters. I helped them to create some funny monsters!

Playdough Space Monsters!

Graham and Parker received a totally awesome, amazing Christmas gift today from Grammy & Van!! It's a Waldorf Playstand!! Van hand built the Playstand himself!! It is perfect and they love it!! I can't wait to post some posts of them playing in/with it!!  Thanks a million Grammy & Van!!!! We have had fun setting it up today and putting a few toys on the shelves!  I will be expanding the chalk board soon. I plan to pull off the right border of paint splatter duct tape, add more chalk board pain and then re-add new paint splatter duct tape border.

Disney and a Disney craft!

taken with the hipstamatic app

Magic Kingdom!
I didnt get a chance to take too many pics. I am hoping to get more pics next time we go. It was a lot of fun. We rode the carousel, the dumbo flying ride, its a small world, and we saw a few shows including a really cute Disney character 3d show that scared the pants off of Graham and Parker. They didnt like the 3d.  Well I guess it was 4d, they had air blowing, scents, water splashing, and such... The rest of the shows we saw were done at the Cinderella castle or on the street in front of it.
